AMPERIA: OUR LOCATION

A quiet, family-friendly neighborhood with a lovely green park, which you can admire from the balconies of our premises. This park includes fitness equipment and is open to the public so you can stay fit during your holiday. Just a short 3-minute drive away, immerse yourself in the rich history of Chania at the Archaeological Museum where you can investigate the region’s fascinating past. Within a 6-minute drive, you will discover Tabakaria, a unique district within the historic Chalepa neighborhood. In contrast to the aristocratic ambiance of Chalepa, Tabakaria served as the heart of Chania’s tanneries for nearly two centuries. Explore this distinctive area and uncover its historical gems, including a 16th-century monastery that played a significant role in the island’s history, and was destroyed during the siege of Chania in 1645. Both the Tabakaria district and the monastery contribute to the UNESCO-listed sites in Crete.
